Too many pockets - Dorothy Levenson

KORTE INHOUD

Dorothy Levenson's Too Many Pockets is the right kinda kid's book with exactly the wrong ending. A baby kangaroo wants outa his Mama's pocket, and now! So he hops outside while Mom is asleep and goes exploring the world, trying to find a pocket in the world warm as that of his mom. But all pockets are closed to him, and him being a kid joey he decides to jump back into his mom's pouch, knowing he ain't ready, not yet. Realistically when we're young, the world can be frightening, and we are born with extreme sensitivity, this is absolutely true. But what if baby Joey never had to go back to mom's pouch? What if he never needed a warm pouch after all? Would this have made for a better book? What do you think? Up to you to have your own view of our roo.
Me, I wish for a better ending, but aside that this is a cute story from the Easy Readers lineup. I'll certainly look forward to another one of these.
