Professor Casson has revised the translations included in his 'Masters of Ancient Comedy' and added the new portions of 'Samia' and 'Aspis'. (...) The translation is accurate, readable, and lively. It would be absurd to expect a translation to convey all Menander's effects exactly in Menander's way, and this one conveys admirably the most important thing, which is the verve of these fast-moving comedies.
