The Van Herck collection

KORTE INHOUD

The Van Herck collection, shown for the first time in its entirety, sheds new light on the artistic production of an entire school of baroque sculpture in Antwerp during the 17th and 18th centuries. Drawings and terracottas by Faydherbe, Duquesnoy, Scheemaekers and Kerrickx offer unique evidence of the dynamism of the studios, the relationships between artists and patrons and, above all, the creative genius of several generations of sculptors.

Having been acquired by the King Baudouin Foundation, the collection is now housed in Antwerp ( Stedelijk Prentenkabinet - Koninklijk museum voor Schone Kunsten ).
