As films it was completed in 1969 as "J'aime le noir et le blanc" and "Entretiens filmés de Frans Masereel et Frans Buyens".
The 1st had its premiere in the Netherlands (VARA television) on May 1, 1969. The 2nd during the opening of the exhibition in Blankenberge (B) on July 4, 1969.
This book is made after both films and contains parts of the conversations (translated into Flemish / Dutch), 120 images of woodcuts and drawings, plus an overview of the most important book editions and folders in which work by Frans Masereel (1917-1964) appeared.
